As I've said, Midkemia is an objective place (more or less) and I have this large canvas of "established facts" upon which to play. Now, lots of what is now Midkemian history is the result of the books, but in the
main, I'm creating within a framework, so if I ask about what happened at such and such a time, Steve and Jon can usually come up with some coinvincing nonsense that I feel obliged to keep somewhat intact. Short
of completely overhauling "history" I have an obligation to make sure whatever lunacy I come up with dovetales into existing Midkemian lore. For instance, there's always been this weird statue outside the gates of Krondor, "The Lady," and now I know how she gets there. Nakor puts her up there to encourage worship of Arch-Indar. That sort of thing.
