Have you ever wondered how others see your favourite characters? The old saying, a pictures worth a thousand words stands true. A comic book, with several pictures, gives an opportunity to see how one creative team see the characters.
In December 2003 Les Dabel of Roaring Studios announced that they would be adapting to a comic/graphic novel series, Raymond E. Feist, The Wood Boy, which first appeared in Robert Silverbergs' Legends anthology. After a rocky start the complete story was finally released.
Since that first foray into the worlds of Raymond E. Feist, they set their sights on bigger targets, and under the new banner of Dabel Brothers Productions they took on the task of adapting Magician Apprentice, the first part of Magician. Again though, all was not well, and after initial production difficulties, which caused delays and availability issues, it was announced in September 2006 that Dabel Brothers Productions would partner with Marvel Comics for the publication, thus giving the comic book a promising future.
On 13th August 2007, the news was released that Marvel Comics and Dabel Brothers Productions would split, with Marvel retaining the rights to publish the Comic Book Adaptation of Magician Apprentice. We are still awaiting the third and final segnment of the series, which has now been announced - see the Latest News.

Look for the last arc to be released starting in January. After it's done, the trade hardcover and then the trade paperback will be produced.
I should have some news about Master as a comic after my meeting with Marvel at the end of July.

Magician Apprentice Comic Book Adaptation - Update
Thursday June 26th, 2008
In response to a question on the status of the Comic Book Adaptation on the alt.books.raymond-feist newsgroup, Ray responed as follows:
From: Raymond Feist
Date: 26 June 2008
Here's what I can tell you. Marvel will finish up Apprentice. They will resume releasing the third arc in January. There's a pretty complex set of reasons why they had the interruption in production, some having to do with inheriting the project from DBP and others with their own internal scheduling issues. The next thing under discussion will be Master, which we'll take up at a meeting at the San Diego ComiCon at the end of next month. If sales stay healthy, there's a good chance we might see this go all the way through Sethanon.

Comic Book release dates slip for the second time UPDATE
Friday October 5th, 2007
In response to a question on why the delay Ray posted teh following to the feistfans-l mailing list.
From: Raymond Feist
Date: 05 October 2007
The delays are simply a function of the hand-off of editing/production assignments from DBPro to Marvel, nothing more complex than that. Marvel picked up 5 titles at once and working with the various writers, artists, etc. takes a bit of coordinations. The creative teams are now working with different editors and production people.
